Comments:
However, when it’s summer, sometimes I just want a decent beer. I need to cool off; I need refreshment; I don’t necessarily need a complex beer to enjoy it.
Berghoff’s Solstice Wit is in this latter category of wits. It’s crisp and refreshing and has a ton of carbonation. On the nose you catch slight whiffs of fruit and spice. The taste itself is also crisp and light. The beer has a bit of zing to it, making it pop in your mouth. Those slight hints of fruit and spice on the nose are also slight in the mouthfeel.
Because the fruit and spice characteristics are somewhat weak, that makes this a pretty average wit in comparison to other craft brews. Still, it’s an enjoyable beer for a hot summer’s day.
