It may sound weird to some, but I like to smell the beer right after opening the bottle. I like to see if I can pick up every characteristic there can be in a beer and this does involve sticking my nose right at the opening of the bottle. Mrs. Mueller saw this act and looked at me like I needed to get my head checked. I proceeded to explain why she, too, needed to try this. I poured it into a glass and she sniffed and tasted … and was pleasantly surprised. She explained that it tasted like cocoa and she was right on cue. The bottle states that it is brewed with bittersweet Belgian chocolate, which is exactly what I smelled and tasted. She also went on to say that she would love to warm this up a bit and pour it over a bowl of ice cream. I wouldn’t go that far, but I will say this is the sweetest tasting beer I have had. I have had one other beer that tasted like this, and I will keep that a secret for the time being. Feel free to contact me and provide your inputs for kind of beer you think I’m talking about. Maybe a prize will be involved …
Prosit!
