This will be the last beer review as a bachelor. In fact this will be the last review I give where I don’t have to ask the wife for beer money. So hopefully my fellow Beer Dorks can help the cause and loan me some money for a six-pack of beer to review once in a while. All kidding aside, I am looking forward to the big day and would just like to say to the future Mrs. Mueller, “I love you.”

This is the first “real” Oktoberfest beer of the year and I will have to say I am not impressed. When I say first “real” one, I don’t mean one that is on the shelf at the liquor store for many months after its last year release. Most of Tyranena brews are good, especially their Brewers Gone Wild set. This one sucked to say it mildly. The only thing this brew had going on was the typical malt flavor associated with the style and the color. But this was complicated by too much bitterness probably associated with the hops. Some of the hopheads out there may like this beer, but I doubt it due to the lack of hop aroma. The color is a deep red which is oddly familiar to the Headless Man Amber Alt. In fact probably the only difference between these two beers is the yeast and hops used.

Gemuetlichkeit Oktoberfest is a below-par beer. In my mind, if this beer was a little less bitter, I would not want to kick myself in the ass for spending the money trying desperately to choke this beverage down. If this web site allowed half mugs for part of the rating system, I would give this one-and-a-half mugs. There is no fault in rating this beer undrinkable considering there are a few saps out there that I can pawn this off to that might like it. The only good thing to come out of this is the next Oktoberfest beer I try can’t be this bad.
